“With consumer preferences changing from analogue to digital, the Indian TV industry has witnessed drastic transformations with TV screens becoming sharper than imaginable and are in no way limited to just flat screen.”
Television is a huge part of modern life, but it is a constantly evolving medium. The increased desire of engagement, particularly immersive viewing experiences, is indicative of how the television technology has rapidly evolved. Despite the era of technology bringing forth a range of different devices which can virtually replace the television, such as iPads, iPods, and smart phones, the TV set remains relevant after all these years. TV industry has endured the tests of time as it has continued to evolve with the times, becoming more versatile and keeping up with recent advancements.
Television has come a long way from being a small box with poor-quality black and white display to a major source of entertainment, advertisement, news, and education. While the TV industry is growing rapidly, one of the challenges for leading market players in India is fulfilling the ever-changing consumer demands. Today’s consumers are becoming more mobile and tech-savvy. The consumer electronics players have adapted to this trend in a multitude of ways. With consumer preferences changing from analogue to digital, the Indian TV industry has witnessed drastic transformations with TV screens becoming sharper than imaginable and are in no way limited to just flat screen.
Developing and enhancing the TV to meet the demand of their consumer, today’s TVs are very different in terms of form factor and design such as the Plasma TVs, LCD TVs, LED TVs, and the smart TV. Video-on-demand, stand-alone streaming, multiple-screen viewing, slimmed down/skinny television, original content, and audience interaction, are among a few things on the platter of television manufacturers.
With innumerable number of technological advancements, TVs are now smarter than ever, and still getting smarter with every new technology. LED players are coming up with technology such as a cinema display design to show exactly what the filmmakers intend boosting the picture quality and combines fine control of the physical backlight operation with additional processing to deliver better localization of black levels.
Taking television to another level, manufacturers have started to design the high-definition display, cutting-edge display screen with a sleek and elegant body. The spectrum of screen sizes ranges is also evolving. One of the more interesting moves we have seen are toward transparent sets and wafer-thin screens that seem to vanish completely when you are not watching them. Panasonic showcased its transparent TV in trade shows earlier this year. In future, companies will surpass its ultra HD technology with developing 3D effect display. 8K ultra HD is also on the verge of entering the industry soon.
Virtual reality equipped TV sets and holographic TVs may also be introduced in coming days.
The only thing constant in this world is change. Technology will keep changing, year after year. This only means good news for our beloved television sets! The possibilities are endless when it comes to new TV technology. We will always be at the point where we are wondering about what is going to come next. It is
very exciting to think about all the possibilities of new TV technology. Colors, format, resolution, and connectivity of television will continue to grow and improve every year. New TV technology is on the rise and as manufacturers we will make sure that we put our best game forward.
